Small Batch Brioche Buns

For all you single folks or small families. This recipe is for you! I mean why do they sell such massive amounts of bread in the store? They need a grocery store for single people. With everything half size!

If, like me, you are trapped inside due to the coronavirus and want to eat a burger. FEAR NOT, you can make your own burger buns. If you need more than 3 you can always double the recipe. These go great with burgers, veggie burgers, pulled pork or chicken.

Small Batch Brioche Buns

Servings 3 buns

Ingredients

  • ½ packet yeast quick about 1 tsp
  • 1 ⅓ cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ cup warm milk
  • 1 tbsp soft butter
  • Sesame seeds optional

EGG WASH

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  • In a mixer bowl add milk, sugar and yeast.
  • Add in flour, salt, egg, butter and onion powder.
  • Using dough hook mix till well incorporated. You may need to stop and scrape down sides.
  • Let mix on medium low for 6 minutes.
  • Dough should be smooth and easily form a ball.
  • Oil a bowl and let dough rest covered for an hour.
  • Punch down dough and cut into 3 even pieces.
  • Form into somewhat squat balls.
  • Cover with towel and let rise again 30 minutes.
  • Mix egg and water. Lightly brush tops.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Preheat oven to 375 F. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes. Should be golden on top.
