This lady here loves chocolate chip cookies. Even more so I love salted chocolate chip cookies. I was also sporting a mad craving for peanut butter cookies and I wanted them HEARTY. I wanted it to stick to my guts and never let go.
So to appease my greedy self I created an everything cookie with all of those ingredients! Man oh man, what I created was something I did not expect. A gift from the baking muses!
Behold, my Salted Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies, tremble in their glory.
Salted Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups old fashioned oats
- ½ cup flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 Pinch cinnamon
- ½ cup butter softened
- ½ cup peanut butter
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- Salt flakes for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Cream butter and sugar till smooth.
- Add egg, peanut butter and vanilla. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl mix flour, oats, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon. Slowly incorporate into wet ingredients.
- Blend until well mixed.
- Drop a heaping spoonful of dough for each cookie on a ungreased cookie sheet or a parchment lined cookie sheet. (Optional – place a few chocolate chips on top for looks.)
- Bake cookies for 10 – 12 minutes.
- Sprinkle a few salt flakes on baked cookies.
