Salted Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

This lady here loves chocolate chip cookies. Even more so I love salted chocolate chip cookies. I was also sporting a mad craving for peanut butter cookies and I wanted them HEARTY. I wanted it to stick to my guts and never let go.

So to appease my greedy self I created an everything cookie with all of those ingredients! Man oh man, what I created was something I did not expect. A gift from the baking muses!

Behold, my Salted Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies, tremble in their glory.

Salted Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups old fashioned oats
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 Pinch cinnamon
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • Salt flakes for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Cream butter and sugar till smooth.
  • Add egg, peanut butter and vanilla. Mix well.
  • In a separate bowl mix flour, oats, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon. Slowly incorporate into wet ingredients. 
  • Blend until well mixed.
  • Drop a heaping spoonful of dough for each cookie on a ungreased cookie sheet or a parchment lined cookie sheet.   (Optional – place a few chocolate chips on top for looks.)
  • Bake cookies for 10 – 12 minutes.
  • Sprinkle a few salt flakes on baked cookies.
